“Scott Somers and I served on the Mesa City Council together for over 6 years. We are both fiscal conservatives, so we worked closely to protect the taxpayers and make the City of Mesa run more efficiently. He works well with others and brings a spirit of cooperation and coalition building to the city council. I am proud to give him my support and know he will be a strong, financially disciplined leader.”
“As long-time residents of Mesa, my wife and I decided to move to Eastmark when it originally opened, not only to be part of a community designed with careful intention, but also to enjoy the benefits of future growth in the Mesa Gateway area. With quality school choices nearby, new businesses going in, expansive housing development, and community events in the Great Park, we absolutely love living in this part of Mesa. And because Scott Somers helped lay the foundation for what is happening here in the Mesa Gateway area, I have confidence that he is the best person to see that vision through to completion.”
“I love Mesa and am proud to call it my home. Our family has deep roots in this community, and we have been blessed by the many opportunities it has provided. That is why I have been committed to public service and supporting those who want to help make our city a better place. I look for individuals who have a heart for Mesa and who are in it for the right reasons. Scott Somers is a great example of both. He understands Southeast Mesa and will help keep Mesa heading in the right direction. I am proud to give him my support.”
"It was my honor to work with Scott Somers on the Mesa City Council from 1997-98 and 2000-08. To see our community grow into what it is today is one of my proudest achievements. During my time on the council, I had the opportunity to work with Scott Somers and while we didn’t always see eye to eye on every issue, I always knew he had Mesa’s best interests in mind. Together, we began what has become a long-standing tradition of a council that works well together – something that continues to this day. Mr. Somers understands the importance of collaboration, cultivating compromise, and putting the needs of our residents first. I strongly support his return to the Mesa City Council.”
“Scott Somers is someone who listens and gets to work solving problems. We can count on him to build strong relationships with our neighborhoods to address our concerns and support safe streets, fight crime, attract quality jobs, and address quality of life issues that make District 6 a great place for families to work, live, and play. I know firsthand the importance of running for local office and the sacrifice it takes to put your name on the line. Scott Somers has a proven track record of putting our community first and I can’t wait to see what he does next for Mesa.”
“Scott Somers understands the importance of small business and its impact on the local economy. He will work hard to reduce the burden on business owners and ensure that economic development works not only for large corporations, but for local businesses as well. Scott Somers is a proven voice for the small business owners who are driving the economy.”
"I’m not just giving Scott Somers my endorsement. He has done the hard work to earn it. With KevinThompson leaving the Mesa City Council, Scott’s return is crucial to our veteran population. When funding was cut to the Veteran’s Day Parade, we formed the East Valley Veterans Day ParadeAssociation. Scott understood the importance of our effort and served as the Council liaison for that organization. He also personally came out and volunteered to help us organize and host the parade. We can count on Scott to address key Veteran issues such as mental health services, homelessness, and returning to the workforce. Being a veteran himself, Somers knows firsthand what it means to serve our country and we can count on him to fight for us."
With most of the ballots counted, I am pleased to say that we are in the lead with more than 58% of the vote! I am humbled by the overwhelming support and trust the voters of District 6 have placed in me.
